Early Spring: Meditation on Bare Alders
by John Hoben
With heavy hand
I am searching for that
one perfect sentence;
while over reticent alders
the sky is
still sleeping;
and, like a great
unseen
river flowing,
lulls me into
a deeper
calm.
Born and raised in Musgrave Harbour, a small fishing community located on the North East Coast of Newfoundland, John is currently a PhD Candidate in Education at Memorial University in St. John’s. Check out his previously blogged poems Salmon Falls, At Close of Autumn (for Li Po) and Banting Lake.
